Lucknow AI City Workshop Charts Bold Vision for India’s Next Tech Hub

Uttar Pradesh is setting the stage for India's next digital revolution with the Lucknow Al City project, positioning the state capital as a future-ready hub for artificial intelligence and emerging technologies.

On 31st October, a high-level stakeholder workshop brought together senior government officials, global technology firms, real estate developers, startups, and academic institutions to shape the blueprint for this ambitious project. The session was attended by Shri Awanish Kumar Awasthi (Advisor to Hon'ble Chief Minister), Shri Deepak Kumar (Infrastructure & Industrial Development Commissioner), Shri Alok Kumar (Additional Chief Secretary, Infrastructure & Industrial Development & NRI Department), Shri Alok Kumar (Principal Secretary, Planning & Programme Implementation), Shri Anurag Yadav (Principal Secretary, IT & Electronics), and Shri Ravi Ranjan (Managing Director, UPLC).

Senior officials emphasized aligning the proposed development with UP's $1 trillion economy vision and the Viksit Uttar Pradesh 2047 core principles. Backed by the Hon'ble Chief Minister's vision, the Al City is planned as a phased development, starting with a 15-20-acre core zone and expanding to 100+ acres. The project will feature aniconic IT tower, startup-focused workspaces, commercial blocks, advanced data center capabilities, and integrated urban and social infrastructure. Key components include an Innovation Centre, Centre of Excellence, Skill Development Institute, and state-of-the-art labs for Al, ML, robotics, and data science, all designed with sustainability and green infrastructure at the core.

The proposed location in central Lucknow offers robust trunk infrastructure, seamless road connectivity, 24x7 utilities, high-speed fiber, and proximity to residential and social amenities.

The Al City is projected to generate direct and indirect jobs across IT, real estate, hospitality, and construction sectors. With progressive policies offering capital subsidies, operational and infrastructure support, Uttar Pradesh aims to position Lucknow as a national leader in Al-driven innovation.

Stakeholders engaged in thematic discussions on strengthening the Al ecosystem, showcasing infrastructure readiness, enabling government support, and finalizing project structuring. KPMG, appointed as Transaction Advisor, facilitated the workshop on behalf of U.P. Electronics Corporation Limited Limited (UPLC), the nodal agency under the Department of IT & Electronics, Government of Uttar Pradesh.
